We have received a few reports from players opening Firewatch and only hearing sound, with either a black screen or seemingly no visuals at all.
This may be caused by the late December Windows 10 update messing with graphics drivers. We’re investigating further to fully diagnose the issue and test a patch fix, or at least a temporary workaround. Thanks for your patience!
In the meantime, we would recommend trying the following:
- Update your graphics drivers
- Uninstall and reinstall the game with anti-virus turned off
- Download the file at this Dropbox link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3z6rl0olufojk21/force_resolution_firewatch._reg?dl=0
- Change the file name to .reg
- Double-click the file
- Boot up the game
